Joint GEO600 Virgo run

Strain sensitivity of the GEO600 (blue curve) and the Virgo (red curve) detectors during the joint data taking run in 2011.
In the summer of 2011, GEO joined the Virgo detector in a 3-month long joint run. At high frequencies (above about 2 kilo-Hertz), the GEO detector reached the same (or slightly better) sensitivity as the 5 times larger Virgo detector.
Science-quality data were acquired for 84.3% (78.8 days) of the total time, with squeezing applied for 53.1% (41.8 days) of the science time. The average squeezing level observed in this period was 16% (1.3 dB).
